Hanley Ramirez has a fractured rib but could still play Monday night in Game 3 of the National League Championship Series.
'Hanley's not in any danger of hurting himself any further,' Manager Don Mattingly said. 'It's just a painful thing.'
The CT scan Ramirez underwent Sunday revealed that he has a fractured eighth rib, according to Mattingly.
Whether Ramirez plays will be a game-time decision. He will try to swing a bat and could be in the lineup if he can bear the pain.
'We'll see what Hanley is going to be able to do,' Mattingly said. 'I know he wants to play.'
Andre Ethier, who is nursing a lower left leg injury, could also be in the lineup. Like Ramirez, whether Ethier plays will depend on how he feels in a pregame workout.
Both Ramirez and Ethier weren't in the lineup Saturday for Game 2.
