The Rockies have been one of the busiest teams in baseball this winter, and they made another series of roster moves on Wednesday. Here's a recap of the news:

* Acquired LHP Franklin Morales and RHP Chris Martin from Red Sox for IF Jonathan Herrera, Jon Heyman of CBSSports.com confirms.

* Acquired OF Drew Stubbs from Indians for LHP Josh Outman, Heyman confirms.

* Lost RHP Collin McHugh on waivers to the Astros. (Denver Post)

Morales, 27, started his career in Colorado before being traded to Boston in 2011. He pitched to a 4.62 ERA (90 ERA+) with a 1.40 K/BB in 25 1/3 innings this past season while missing time with back and pectoral problems. Morales has experience starting and relieving, though he has been a full-time bullpener since 2009.

Herrera, 29, hit .292/.336/.364 (83 OPS+) with one home run in 81 games for the Rockies this past season. He has experience at the three non-first base infield positions and gives the Red Sox some depth. It's unlikely the trade would take re-signing Stephen Drew completely off the table.

The 29-year-old Stubbs managed a .233/.305/.360 (90 OPS+) line with 10 homers and 17 stolen bases for the Tribe this year. The right-handed hitter did hit .266/.361/.357 (97 OPS+) against left-handed pitchers. Stubbs joins a crowded outfield picture that includes Brandon Barnes, Corey Dickerson, Charlie Blackmon and All-Stars Carlos Gonzalez and Michael Cuddyer.

Outman, 29, was squeezed out of the team's bullpen by both Morales and the recent Boone Logan signing. He had a 4.33 ERA (102 ERA+) in 54 relief innings in 2013 while holding left-handed batters to a .198/.278/.261 (69 OPS+) batting line. With a name like that, he was born to be a pitcher.

McHugh had a 10.04 ERA (43 ERA+) in 26 innings for the Mets and Rockies this past season. The 26-year-old posted a much more respectable 3.42 ERA in 113 minor league innings. Martin, 27, had a 2.25 ERA and 4.63 K/BB in 72 relief innings split between Double and Triple-A in 2013.

The Rockies have remade their roster these last few weeks. In addition to today's moves, they've also traded away Dexter Fowler, traded for Brett Anderson, signed Logan, signed LaTroy Hawkins and signed Justin Morneau.
