Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence beat out the twerk-tastic Miley Cyrus for the Associated Press' entertainer of the year.

But the Hunger Games star didn't decimate Cyrus like a wrecking ball. The vote, decided upon by 70 U.S. editors and news directors, was actually very close. Lawrence received a winning 15 ballots, followed closely by Cyrus at 14 and the subscription video service Netflix at 13.

The accolade is female-dominated, as recent winners include Tina Fey, Lady Gaga, Adele, and Betty White. Stephen Colbert is the only male to have won the title in the award's seven years.
