Pebble announced Saturday that it will open its appstore on Feb. 3.

During the 2014 Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, Pebble announced that it is going to launch an appstore in January. Even though January has already ended, expectants should keep their spirits high as Pebble appstore will start working at 10:00 a.m. PST Monday.

Since the original Pebble smartwatch's software development kit (SDK) was launched last year, different third-party software developers have popped out. However, unlike the established appstores, the distribution of applications is unsystematic. Though there are direct downloads, users cannot easily browse for apps and install them directly on their smartwatch.

In a few hours from now, every user with Pebble smartwatch can browse, download, and install apps straight from the Pebble app store. Pretty much like Apple's iTunes and Google's Play, the applications in the appstore are sorted out according to their categories and functionalities, which make it easier for users to find what they are in need of. Even so, users can just store up to eight applications to avoid the watch's menu structure from getting too crowded.

However, original Pebble smartwatches may not be able to purchase or download from the store until they upgrade their software. Additionally, not all operating systems have the Pebble appstore. The company announced that the Pebble Store is only available for iOS users, but Android version will come 'very, very soon,' said Pebble spokesperson Myriam Joire to

Pebble has introduced to styles of smartwatches. The first one is the Original Pebble smartwatch that is created with a scratch-free plastic fascia, plastic casing and a rubber strap that can be serviceable. The 1.34oz-smartwatch has a dimension of 52 x 36 x 11.5 mm. The second one is the Pebble Steel, which is designed with a sleeker stainless steel case and a Corning Gorilla Glass screen. It weighs heavier at 1.97oz, but smaller with a dimension of 46 x 34 x 10.5 mm.

Pebble has updated its smartwatch with a new software development kit (SDK), iOS notifications, and new apps that we long to see on a smartwatch.
