Red Nexus 5 Gets More Official in Latest Leak

This week was full of Nexus 5 leaks showcasing a new color option possibly coming soon from Google, and now we have the best look yet. An official press render right from Twitter.

Earlier this week multiple rumors surfaced that Google was preparing to offer its flagship smartphone in possibly as many as eight different color variants, but they'll be starting with Red out of the gate. That was followed with leaked blurry photos from LG warehouses with boxes full of a red Nexus 5, and now the popular @evleaks is sharing the press photo that will likely accompany the device on Google Play.

The Google Nexus 5 by LG is coming soon in Red, and now we have the official press photo to go along with the leaks, reports, and rumors. So far there's no additional details or an official release date to go with it, but we have a pretty good idea of what to expect.

Yesterday details surfaced from Sprint stores suggesting on February 4th Google will reveal and release the Red Nexus 5 in retail stores, and of course at the Google Play Store. That's not official, but everything is looking pretty confirmed right about now.

As a reminder, the Nexus 5 sports a 5-inch 1080p HD display, Qualcomm's latest quad-core processor, 2GB of RAM, an impressive 8 megapixel OIS camera, and is running the absolute latest Android 4.4.2 KitKat. It's a top-tier phone, and soon could arrive in multiple color options.

We're hearing Red is first, coming February 4th in time for Valentine's Day, and Google will follow that with a bright Yellow option and possible others. It should retail for the same $439 16GB and $399 32GB price. For now we'll just have to wait and see. Although, we're already looking to the future with a Nexus 6.
