Sophomore Alex Poythress, who tweaked his knee in the Wildcats' dopgile on the court in the postgame celebration, will play Monday night.
'It's fine. It did bother me all night,' Poythress told Larry Vaught on Sunday.
Poythress said after Saturday night's win over Wisconsin that the knee wasn't too bad and he expected to be fine for the title game.
'Emotions just take over you,' Poythress said. 'You just go running toward your teammates and you just jump up and down smiling and laughing. You only get those moments once in a lifetime, and you have to feel fortunate to be in those moments.'
As for sophomore center Willie Cauley-Stein, he's a no-go for the title game. Cauley-Stein injured his foot in Kentucky's Sweet 16 win over Louisville.
'It's tough. It's heartbreaking,' Cauley-Stein said on Sunday. 'The only thing I can really do is encourage the team and stay positive even though I can't play. I still serve a purpose, uplifting people and staying in people's ears and cheering.'
No. 8 seed Kentucky plays No. 7 seed Connecticut on Monday night at 9:10 p.m. ET on CBS for the national title.
