Clippers ready to face Golden State in playoffs

When the Clippers entered the locker room after their regular-season finale loss Wednesday night to the Portland Trail Blazers, they already had scouting reports on the Golden State Warriors sitting in their chairs.

The Clippers had known before they tipped off to play the Trail Blazers that they would be meeting the Warriors in the first round of the Western Conference playoffs.

Now the Clippers were getting prepared to put all their attention on the Warriors. Game 1 is Saturday at Staples Center.

The two teams have a disdain for the other; the trash-talking already starting.

Golden State guard Klay Thompson kicked things off Wednesday when he called Clippers forward Blake Griffin a flopper.

'He is a good guy off the court but he probably just ... I mean ... plays pretty physical and flops a little bit,' Thompson told The Wheelhouse on 95.7 The Game radio in San Francisco on Wednesday.

'He flairs his arm around so you know you might catch a random elbow or something that doesn't, you know, rub off too well on guys,' Thompson said. 'He's kind of like a bull in a china shop, kind of out of control sometimes. And then you do just see him flop sometimes, like how can a guy that big and strong flop that much.

'I can see how that gets under people's skin and be frustrating to play against.'

The Clippers and Warriors split the four-game season-series 2-2.

'The talking started last year,' Clippers guard Jamal Crawford said. 'Every game we played them last year felt like a playoff-type atmosphere and it carried over to this year. Now it's real. Now it's real. Let's do it.'
