ALAMEDA -- The Raiders placed Rod Streater on the injured reserve list designated for return on Thursday, meaning the wide receiver will be eligible to be back on the active roster on Nov. 27.
Streater sustained a foot fracture in the Raiders' Week 3 loss to New England and made the trip with the team to London but was on crutches. In a Twitter exchange with former teammate Terrelle Pryor Wednesday, Streater acknowledged undergoing surgery on the foot.
Raiders coach Dennis Allen, before he was dismissed as head coach, said Streater would need surgery.
Through three games, Streater had nine receptions for 84 yards and a touchdown. An undrafted free agent out of Temple in 2012, Streater lead the Raiders in receiving last season with 60 receptions for 888 yards and four touchdowns.
Placing Streater on injured reserve frees up a roster spot for the Raiders, but as yet there has been no corresponding move. In their bye week, the Raiders cannot practice again until Monday under terms of the collective bargaining agreement.
Each team is allowed to designate one player for return off the injured reserve list. The Raiders used it last season on tackle Jared Veldheer, who had a torn triceps in training camp but came back to play the final four games of the regular season.
