'Jeopardy' host awarded Guinness World Record certificate


Which game show host is a Guinness World Record holder? The answer is Alex Trebek. The 'Jeopardy' host was awarded a certificate from Guinness on Friday for the 'most game show episodes hosted by the same presenter' - 6,829.


According to People magazine the 73-year-old has hosted the show since 1984, asked over 400,000 questions but doesn't plan on quitting anytime soon. In a video released commemorating the achievement Trebek said, 'I want to continue for a few more years,' then adding when talking about the honor that it, 'is the kind of record that can be replaced.'


'The good news is as long as I keep hosting the program,' he continued. 'I stay ahead of whoever's in second place and that makes me feel good.'


The Canadian-born host also revealed that he's planning on hanging the certificate on the stairway leading to his bedroom so he can see it every day.
