Jennifer Love Hewitt Joins Criminal Minds as Series Regular

TV criminals beware, Jennifer Love Hewitt is on the case. Hewitt has joined the cast of CBS's Criminal Minds for the upcoming season 10 as a series regular.


Hewitt will play Kate Callahan, a former undercover FBI agent whose exceptional work lands her a gig with the Behavioral Analysis Unit.


'We're thrilled to introduce a new special agent by adding the very talented Jennifer Love Hewitt to our amazing cast,' showrunner Erica Messer said in a statement. 'Many of us on the show have enjoyed working with her over the years and look forward to again. We have exciting storylines planned for her character and the entire BAU team as we head into our 10 th season.'

Criminal Minds also stars Thomas Gibson, Jeanne Tripplehorn, Shemar Moore, A.J. Cook, Matthew Gray Gubler, Joe Mantegna and Kirsten Vangsness.


Hewitt is no stranger to the CBS family. She headlined The Ghost Whisperer for five seasons on the network and recently starred in Lifetime's The Client List. Her other TV credits include Party of Five, Hot in Cleveland and The Lost Valentine. Her film credits include Heartbreakers opposite Sigourney Weaver, I Know What You Did Last Summer and Can't Hardly Wait.


Criminal Minds kicks off season 10 on Wednesday, Oct. 1 at 9 p.m. on CBS.
