OnePlus One Will Get Android L Via CyanogenMod, Phone Still Unavailable In ...

The OnePlus One could have been the best Android phone in the market - if it launched days after it was announced.

Apparently, the manufacturer was not ready to deliver the actual device, after building up much hype about it weeks before its announcement.

Now, after months of waiting, people who are waiting for the OnePlus One would have to wait a little bit more as the device's launch has been pushed by up to 20 days late due to delayed shipments.

Fortunately, there is still good news coming out of the startup company.

According to a report by GSM Arena, OnePlus has released a statement following the issue about the Android L update, which should be officially released by Google in the next three months.

So a lot - I mean, a lot - of people are asking about whether we'll be getting on the Android L train. It was announced while I was asleep and when I got back to work the morning after, there were already a bunch of forum posts and (strangely) customer support requests about it.Well, we're keen to announce today that the OnePlus One will indeed be getting the L treatment. When, you ask? That depends on Google. We promise to have it done within three months of their releasing a final build.

So now that Android L will offically arrive to OnePlus One phones via the CyanogenMod, then we expect the device to be futureproof, at least for the next few more months.

Unfortunately, finding the phone is still a chore as the device has yet to arrive in major markets around the world.

Just in case you are interested in getting this handset, the OnePlus One packs a 5.5-inch IPS display with Full HD (1920 x 1080) resolution, a quad-core CPU clocked at 2.5Ghz, a Snapdragon 801 chipset, and 3GB of RAM.

The CyanogenMod powered handset comes with either a 16GB or 64GB built in memory with no microSD card slot availale for possible storage expansion. At the back lies the 13MP shooter that has dual-LED flash while a 5MP snapper graces the front part of the device.
