Report: Sox considering trade for Matt Kemp

Jake Peavy is out the door, Mike Carp has requested a trade and the Red Sox are fielding offers for Andrew Miller.

Trade winds could be blowing in Boston for the rest of the week.

According to ESPN Boston's Gordon Edes, the Red Sox are considering a possible trade for Dodgers outfielder Matt Kemp that could involve starting pitcher Jon Lester.

The 29-year-old is currently in the third year of an eight-year, $160 million contract and is currently hitting .273 with eight home runs and 40 RBI for Los Angeles this season.

If Jon Lester is included in a deal, Sox ace said he would be willing to come back to Boston after the season.

'Yeah, why not?' Lester said on Friday. 'I mean, (Boston) is what I know, this is what I love. Like I've said plenty of times, this is where I want to be. And if they trade me I completely understand. No hard feelings. I know what they have to do for their organization and if that involves me, so be it. If it doesn't I'll keep running out there every five days and pitching.''
