What the devil: Katy Perry being sued for witchcraft over Dark Horse melody
Err...
The Christian rapper reckons the singer's smash hit Dark Horse nicks the bass line and high-pitched melody from his record Joyful Noise.
And, going by the lawsuit obtained by the St Louis Post-Dispatch, he is claiming his song has been 'irreparably tarnished by its association with the witchcraft, paganism, black magic, and Illuminati imagery evoked by the same music in Dark Horse'.
Hands up who never even noticed K-Pez was singing about all things hocus pocus?
Good news is there will be no burning at the stake, just a good old fashioned ripping to shreds in a court room. Phew.
Some claim Katy Perry may have... er... borrowed from other songs in the past after it was noticed that her track Roar and Sarah Bareilles' Brave bore striking similarities. No lawsuit was brought though.
She's not alone. One Direction were also famously accused of ripping off some pretty huge tracks, such as The Who's Baba O'Riley in Best Song Ever and Grease's Summer Nights in What Makes You Beautiful.
Have a listen and see if you think you can hear what all the fuss is about.
