A New Zealand designer had the 'great honour' of dressing Amal Alamuddin's bridesmaid for the wedding of the year.
Australian lawyer Jennifer Robinson wore an embellished black gown by Sydney-based New Zealand designer Johanna Johnson to her best friend Ms Alamuddin and actor George Clooney's lavish wedding in Venice on Saturday.
The highly-anticipated photos of the bride and groom are now gracing the front covers of US magazines. See the photos here.
Ms Johnson said it had 'been my great honour to have been requested by Vogue to work on the wedding of Mr George Clooney and his bride, Ms Amal Alamuddin, to dress Ms Jennifer Robinson, best friend and confidante of the bride.'
It is not clear what role Ms Robinson played in the ceremony, but the 33-year-old was one of four confidants of the bride.
Ms Robinson is a media and human rights lawyer who defended Julian Assange along with Ms Alamuddin.
Originally from Blenheim, Ms Johnson moved to Australia in 1989 and went on to train in graphic design in Melbourne.
Ms Johnson is a red carpet favourite for celebrities, dressing actresses Christina Hendricks, Meryl Streep, Halle Berry, model Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, and she even created a custom gown for Charlene, Princess of Monaco.
