Patriots activate Browner, Tyms; release Vellano
They weren't active for Sunday night's game against the Bengals, but they're active now.
Patriots corner Brandon Browner and receiver Brian Tyms -- both of whom served four-game suspensions to start the season -- have been activated by the Patriots, the team announced Monday afternoon.
The Patriots needed to clear two roster spots in order to make room on the 53-man active roster for Browner and Tyms, and they have done so by releasing defensive lineman Joe Vellano and placing defensive end Michael Buchanan on season-ending injured reserve.
More to come . . .
