Brawl Erupts As Panthers Crush Saints

By David Newton | ESPN.com

NEW ORLEANS -- Panthers tight end Brandon Williams was ejected after a first-quarter brawl following Cam Newton's touchdown run during Sunday's game against the Saints.

Newton scored on a 2-yard dive to give the Panthers a 17-0 lead with 6:41 left in the quarter. As the Carolina quarterback got up, he got into a shouting match with defensive end Cameron Jordan and eventually mocked a hip-thrusting moved like wrestlers do pretending to show off a championship belt.

Newton then did his signature 'Superman' move, and was pushed in the back by inside linebacker Curtis Loften while continuing to jaw with Jordan.

A melee between both teams ensued in which Newton was pushed through the end zone by Lofton into the padded entrance leading to a tunnel behind the goal posts.

Newton raised his hands at one point and ultimately went through the padded entrance as both teams got into a pushing and shoving match.

Williams charged in and appeared to throw punches at Jordan and Ronald Powell to draw the ejection and likely fine from the league.
