The story of Josh McRoberts' career has been injuries. The Miami Heat forward has been in the NBA for seven years yet has never played 80 games in a season and has only played more than 50 games once.


The Heat confirmed on Monday that McRoberts will have knee surgery to repair a tear in his meniscus, an injury that could end McRoberts' season:

McRoberts signed a four-year deal with the Heat over the summer, which seemed like a long pact for a player with his injury history.


The Heat underwent drastic changes over the summer with LeBron James signing with Cleveland, so McRoberts was going to play an important role for the team as Miami transitioned into a new era for the franchise.

Considering McRoberts' injury history, it's natural to wonder if this latest setback will change how head coach Erik Spoelstra decides to use the former Duke star.
