Critics' Choice Movie Awards: Birdman, Boyhood and The Grand Budapest Hotel ...

Birdman is the one to beat!

The black comedy, directed by Alejandro González Iñárritu and starring Michael Keaton, tops the list of nominees for the 20th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards. The nominations were announced Monday, with Richard Linklater's Boyhood and Wes Anderson's The Grand Budapest Hotel trailing Birdman's 13 nods. Michael Strahan will host the show live from Hollywood Palladium on A&E Jan. 15 at 9 p.m. ET. Jessica Chastain, Kevin Costner and will each receive special awards during the ceremony.

'I am excited to host a night honoring some of the most talented people in the industry,' Strahan said in a statement. 'The Critics' Choice Movie Awards show paves the way for the upcoming awards season, and the best part is that the winners are selected by the very people who make a living watching and reviewing films. It doesn't get much more competitive than that.'

Broadcast Film Critics Association president Joey Berlin shares Strahan's sentiment, saying, 'It's been a great year for movies. Filmmakers have demonstrated that riveting, magical and provocative stories can be told in an incredible range of styles and techniques. The members of the BFCA and our new partners at A&E are proud to salute wonderful films and performances in the traditional categories and a wide variety of popular genres including Comedy, Action and Sci-Fi/Horror. Audiences love all kinds of movies-and so do we.'
