Report: Red Sox to Acquire Wade Miley From Diamondbacks
Less than a day after losing the bidding to bring back Jon Lester, the Red Sox reportedly have a deal in place for another left-handed starter.
The Sox have an agreement in place to acquire Arizona Diamondbacks southpaw Wade Miley, according to FOX Sports' Ken Rosenthal and Jon Morosi. Rosenthal and Morosi report that the Red Sox will send pitchers Rubby De La Rosa, Allen Webster, and a minor leaguer to Arizona in exchange for Miley.
Since making his debut with the Diamondbacks in 2011, Miley is 37-35 in 102 big league starts, posting an ERA of 3.78. He was an All-Star in 2012 and finished second in NL Rookie of the Year voting, seven points behind Washington's Bryce Harper. Miley has thrown over 200 innings in back-to-back seasons and was 5 1/3 innings short of that mark in 2012.
