Android tablet owners now have Twitter app of their own
Twitter releases a version of its app that is optimized specifically for Android tablets. It's available first for Samsung Galaxy Note users.

Twitter said Thursday that it has launched a version of its mobile app optimized specifically for Android tablets.
The company explained in a blog post that while it has long offered a general Android app, it has never tailored a version of the app for tablets.
Now, though, Android tablet users will have access to an app designed to fill the screen 'with tweets, conversations, trends, accounts to follow, and more' when in landscape view. Tapping a tweet expands it on the right side of the screen, revealing videos, photos, and previews of articles. A second tap goes deeper into the tweet, allowing a full-screen view of photos, video playback, and the ability to read articles.
The app will be available starting today for Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1-2014 Edition, Twitter said. Support for additional tablets will be added by year's end. Twitter said it worked with Samsung to offer special features including the ability to run Twitter and a second app at the same time and to annotate tweets with drawings.
Twitter offers a version of its app both for iPhone and for iPad. The company is expected to release a full overhaul of its iOS apps soon.
