The final day of the Austin City Limits Music festival has been canceled because of dangerous weather conditions in the area. The festival's organizers announced the cancellation today on their website, citing flash flood warnings. According to Austin's American Statesman, the region received between 5 and 11 inches of rain overnight.

Today's lineup, for the third and final day of the fest's second weekend, would have featured performances from Atoms for Peace, Lionel Richie, the National and Phoenix, among many others. Alex Kapranos of Franz Ferdinand, who were scheduled to play this afternoon, vented on Twitter: 'So disappointed that ACL is cancelled. I've been looking forward to this all week.'

The organizers say they are refunding one-third of the ticket price, which will be issued automatically by check. 'Our first priority is always the safety of our fans, staff and artists,' Shelby Meade, the head of communications for the festival's promoter, C3 Presents, said in a statement on ACL's website. 'We regret having to cancel the show today, but safety always comes first.'
