Red Sox unveil details of pregame ceremony

The Red Sox announced details for the ceremonies to be held at Fenway Park Friday afternoon prior to the home opener against the Milwaukee Brewers. The ceremonies will begin at 1 p.m., with first pitch for the game at 2:05.
The ceremonies will be highlighted by the presentation of World Series rings to members of the 2013 championship team. The players will wear special jerseys, with gold stitching around the World Series patch on the left sleeve and around the letters and numbers on the front and back.

The Dropkick Murphys, along with Keith Lockhart and the Boston Pops Esplanade Orchestra, will perform. Military members from Hanscom Air Force Base will line the Green Monster in left field when the American flag drops for the national anthem.
At the conclusion of the anthem, the US Coast Guard will fly an MH-60T helicopter over the park, representing all armed forces and continuing the tradition of an Opening Day flyover.
A moment of silence will be held to pay tribute to the two firefighters - Edward J. Walsh and Michael R. Kennedy - who died last week in a Back Bay blaze. The Boston Fire Department Quartet will perform 'God Bless America' in the seventh inning.
Fenway Park will open at 11:35 a.m., and the Red Sox urge fans to take public transportation to the ballpark.
