A montage preceded his award where fans thanked John for touching their hearts and souls with his words.

Gus and Hazel themselves - Ansel Elgort, 20, and Shailene Woodley, 22, - appeared on the video to talk about their beloved author. 'Fans...when they see John, they go nuts,' Ansel said.

While filming the movie, Shailene was stunned to see John more recognized than George Clooney, 53!

If you are a part of any respective fandom, the mtvU Fandom Awards is the greatest thing to EVER happen. Veronica Mars, whose fans kickstarted an epic campaign to bring back the short-lived series for a movie, won Fandom of the Year.

Ian Somerhalder, 35, and Nina Dobrev, 25, mostly known as Damon and Elena on The Vampire Diaries, were awarded the Ship of the Year.

Game of Thrones, and Harry Potter also took home major awards!. We have your full list of winners right here!

HollywoodLifers, are you glad that John Green was given the Visionary Award
