Beasley, Garrido debut in last
The World Cup veterans from the USA and Honduras started as Houston got a 1-0 win over D.C. United on Will Bruin's late goal.
Boasting a pair of World Cup-tested reinforcements, the Houston Dynamo left it late but eventually did enough to snap their eight-game winless drought.
Recent signing DaMarcus Beasley and Luis Garrido started as the Dynamo notched a 1-0 win over D.C. United on Sunday, thanks to Will Bruin's 91st-minute tally.
Beasley, who played every minute for the USA in Brazil during his fourth World Cup, went the distance at left back. After starting two games for Honduras at the World Cup, Garrido partnered with former U.S. international Ricardo Clark in central midfield for 76 minutes.

'It was fun to see them step on the field without a transition period,' Dynamo goalkeeper Tally Hall said. 'It's a difficult league to play, and difficult to succeed in. I thought they were both positive forces for us.'
Two-time All-Star left back Corey Ashe made way for Beasley, who combined with Brad Davis to give Houston the same left side the USA used against Germany in the World Cup. With Garrido, Clark, Davis and Honduran international Boniek Garcia, the Dynamo trotted out a midfield comprised entirely of World Cup veterans.
Returning to MLS after 10 years in Europe and Mexico, Beasley got a reminder of the league's physical nature when he suffered a chipped tooth while absorbing a boot to the face from United midfielder Lewis Neal.
