Ebola caregivers named Time's Person of the Year

The Ebola fighters are the most influential people of 2014.
Time Magazine named Ebola caregivers as its Person of the Year. Managing Editor Nancy Gibbs unveiled the pick on the Today show Wednesday.
The Ferguson protesters took the No. 2 spot, while Russian President Vladimir Putin - who took the honor in 2007 - claimed No. 3.
Iraqi Kurdish Region president Masoud Barzani came in 4 th and Alibaba founder Jack Ma came in 5 th.
Earlier this week, pop star Taylor Swift, Apple CEO Tim Cook and NFL commissioner Roger Goodell were also named in the top eight of 2014's most influential people.

But readers picked a different person to honor. In an online poll, voters selected Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi as their pick for 2014's most important person.
Pope Francis was the last year's Person of the Year. The Argentinian was elected to the position in March 2013 in a slew of firsts: He is the first Jesuit pope, the first from the Americas and the first non-European since 741.
