Twitter forms NBC deal to stream from tweets

SAN FRANCISCO -- Twitter has struck a deal with Comcast to bring some NBCUniversal programs to TV subscribers via tweets.

''Twitter is where television viewers come to talk about what they're watching on TV when they're watching it,' Twitter CEO Dick Costolo said in a statement.

Under the deal, NBCUniversal programming from The Voice and Sunday Night Football will become available on Twitter directly from tweets. TV subscribers will need to log in to their pay-TV accounts.

The new feature, dubbed See It, provide an icon below tweets for users to tune in. Comcast's Xfinity TV customers will be able to change channels, play on-demand programs or set their DVR directly from an expanded tweet. Comcast plans to launch the feature in November.

The Twitter feature is designed to bring on more video distribution partners, Web sites and television networks, according to Twitter.
