iOS 8 is "Police
Apple Inc. has introduced a new technology that according to them cannot be compromised by the police, taking a step forward in the effort to protect the private communications of iPhone and iPad users.
Apple on Wednesday revealed that its latest mobile operating system, the iOS8, has built-in encryption features that won't let anybody - even police having search warrants access data on the handheld devices.
'Unlike our competitors, Apple cannot bypass your pass code and therefore cannot access this data,'Apple said on its website. 'So it's not technically feasible for us to respond to government warrants for the extraction of this data from devices in their possession running iOS 8.'
'For over three years Android has offered encryption, and keys are not stored off of the device, so they cannot be shared with law enforcement,' said company spokeswoman Niki Christoff. 'As part of our next Android release, encryption will be enabled by default out of the box, so you won't even have to think about turning it on.'
However, the user-data-security parameters only hold to handheld devices - iPhone and iPad.
Apple officials stated that, 'Users who forget their passwords with the new iOS 8 operating systems will no longer be able to recover them by contacting the company directly.'
