State Farm Will Sell Blue Cross Health Policies
Blue Cross and Blue Shield have announced partnership with local State Farm agents for improving the enrollment figures for the Affordable Care Act.
Bloomington, Illinois-based State Farm will sell Blue Cross and Blue Shield health care policies in Illinois, New Mexico, Texas, Montana and Oklahoma. State Farm brokers will earn commissions on individual and family Blue Cross insurance policies.
Blue Cross aims to improve its client base as 3,300 State Farm agents will join force in five states. The enrollment will begin November 15 and the coverage will start from January 1, 2015.
State Farm will provide health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act health insurance exchanges in the five states. The company will also market the policies which may not be part of the public exchanges.
'This alliance brings together two iconic organizations, both known for delivering the most trusted insurance coverage and exceptional customer service,' said Joe Monk, Senior Vice President and Chief Administrative Officer of State Farm Mutual.
State Farm has a wide network of agents across the country. The company also operates in the Canadian automobile insurance market.
