Top Tech Firms Gear Up for IFA Trade Show this Week

It's the time of the year when all eyes are set in Berlin, Germany for the annual technology trade show called IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin). European technology enthusiasts expect to take a glimpse of what the top tech firms are preparing to roll out in the upcoming holiday season.


No wonder, IFA is considered as the European counterpart of the highly anticipated Consumer Electronics Show (CES). This year, the show floor opens to the public from September 5 to September 10. But the major press conferences and new product unveilings are set to happen on September 3 to September 4.


In the past years, the IFA has served as the launch pad for the newest tablets, smartphones, TVs, and other gadgets. This year, here are some of the expected highlights from the top tech firms.


Samsung Electronics

Again, Samsung Electronics is expected to become the 'belle of the ball.' The consumer electronics firm is set to host another major 'Unpacked' event, which is simultaneously beamed via satellite to facilitate live-streaming in several locations around the world. The company is expected to unveil the next-generation Galaxy Note and the Tizen-based Gear S that was already announced this week. It might also showcase its Oculus Rift, which is its take into virtual reality.


Sony Corp

In the teaser video previously released by the Japanese electronics firm, it was clear that the company is set to introduce a new set of Xperia devices. It is expected that Sony would unveil at least three new products. Those may include Z3 Compact smartphones, Xperia Z3, and Z3 Tablet Compact.


Microsoft Corp

Are you ready for more from Microsoft? The company invites everyone for more face time. Thus, enthusiasts can expect new Nokia Lumia phones. Two new models are on the list of expectations: Nokia Lumia 830 and Lumia 730, the features of both have already been leaked somewhere online.


LG Electronics

Again, LG is expected to unleash the dogs before the actual event. On its IFA lineup for this year are the new LG G Watch R and the LG G3 Stylus. It is also set to formally introduce its low-cost devices L Fino and L Bello.
