Vizio showed off their P-Series of 4k 'Ultra HD' TVs at CES 2014 back in January, and now the company has announced pricing and pre-order availability of the new sets that range in price from $999 to $2,499. The 50-inch (P502ui-B1) is one of the smallest, and cheapest 4k TVs out there. Priced under $1k, the 4k TV has all the fixin's of the larger 55-inch, 60-inch, 65-inch, and 70-inch sets, including full-array LED backlighting with up to 72 active LED zones, Clear Action Rate 960 with an effective 240 Hz refresh rate, and video playback up to 60 frames-per-second.


All the models in the Vizio P-Series also feature a V6 six-core processor (with quad-core GPU and dual-core CPU), HDMI 2.0 support, built-in 802.11ac dual-band Wi-Fi, and HEVC H.265 codec translation for streaming 4k media. The sets also support HDCP 2.2 for playback of protected Ultra HD content.


Considering all the features these 4k TVs are designed with, the new P-Series are the most competitively priced Ultra HD TVs we've seen this year, with MSRPs much less than new 4k models released by LG, Toshiba, and Panasonic.
