Volition Reveals Saints Row: Gat Out Of Hell Standalone Expansion
Volition has revealed its latest project, and it's not Saints Row V like previously thought. Announced during a PAX Prime panel, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell is a huge expansion pack for Saints Row IV taking the futuristic superhero antics down to the depths of Hell.
Arriving in 2015, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell will be a standalone add-on in which the Saints' Johnny Gat and Kinzie are inadvertently transported down to Hell through a mysterious Ouija board. Battling demons and prominent historical figures and culminating in a showdown with Satan himself, Volition's latest is looking ripe for satire.
Down in Hell players will get access to a brand new armoury, including an Energy Caster, a Locust Gun, and the Arm Chairmageddon, a reclining chair with rockets and machine guns attached, themed after the sin 'sloth'. Much of the game appears to be set in Hell, which is roughly half the size of Steelport City in total. If exploring the depths of Hell gets lonely, the co-op mode will once again be returning, where players can work through the story content online. Check out the brand new reveal trailer below for hearty hellish fun.
Developed once again by Volition and with the help of High Voltage Software, Saints Row: Gat out of Hell will not require a copy of Saints Row 4 to play. Available to buy for $20 on January 27th, 2015, Gat out of Hell will be arriving on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Xbox One, and Xbox 360. Both of the current gen consoles will be getting a remaster of the original Saints Row 4 and its DLC, including Gat out of Hell, called Saints Row 4: Re-Elected.
